Clonmacnoise (irisch Cluain Mhic Nóise, „Wiese der Söhne des Nóise“; ist eine einzigartige Klosterruine im County Offaly, am Fluss Shannon in der Republik Irland gelegen. Die Geschichte des Klosters reicht zurück ins 6. Jahrhundert. Heute ist die Anlage eine der meistbesuchten touristischen Attraktionen der grünen Insel. Die ehemalige Klosteranlage liegt nur wenige Kilometer südlich der nahe dem Inselmittelpunkt liegenden Stadt Athlone.
Clonmacnoise is a unique monastery ruin in County Offaly, on the River Shannon in the Republic of Ireland. The history of the monastery dates back to the 6th century. Today, the site is one of the most visited tourist attractions on the Emerald Isle. The former monastery is located just a few kilometres south of the town of Athlone, which is close to the centre of the island.
